Things I Noticed During Church This Morning

  • The communion table was farther back today than normal. I kept backing into the fake plants that normally aren't in the way there. The chairs behind the pulpit were also farther apart than they usually are. If you ever want to mess with the pastor, move all the things up front just a little bit. I was thrown off all service because the space was just tiny bit different than I expected.
  • For about a day or two after a really good long run, it's normal for your legs to feel a bit squirrelly. Makes it hard to sit or stand still. My twenty miler yesterday was totally fabulous, but sitting still in the big chair up front during the service was really hard. Standing still during long prayers wasn't much better.
  • I don't like to drink grape juice. Never had. And this morning it finally dawned on me that it's because it smells like communion. There is nothing wrong with smelling like communion. It's just that it seems weird to drink very much of something that smells like communion. I'm pretty sure I know what I'm trying to say here. Anyway, there you have it.
